The Enthusiastic Cook


Food is a pretty fun thing. For me, an overflowing dining room table with stacks of homemade food and friends is pretty much as good as it gets. Crank up the music, tuck into that second helping of dessert, food makes my heart sing (as does Bonnie Tyler after a few glasses of champagne).

The exciting thing about food is how imaginative you can get, how transporting it can make you feel. Memories are created when the crucial ingredient was forgotten at the shop and you have to wing it. When you’re travelling in a completely unfamiliar environment and randomly step into the best Spanish pinxtos bar.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be spending a lot of this year travelling (and eating), so thought I would share some of my newly created food memories along the way. Maybe give a few of them a go in my own kitchen, let’s see what happens.

You don’t need to be an expert to cook, to enjoy food. You just need to be enthusiastic. Let’s go!
